Nancy Kala

Nancy Jakubowski Kala, age 86, passed away May 5, 2022, at UPMC-Hamot. She was born on October 12, 1935 in, Erie, daughter of the late Joseph and Jean (Janiak) Jakubowski. She was an employee at Glenn Electric Heater Corp. for 37 years as a leader of the Assembly Department.

She graduated from St. Benedict Academy in 1953. She was a founding member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

She was a member of the Auxiliary Women of the Siebenberger Club.

She loved Baking Banana Bread and Cherry Cheese desert for many occasions.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe of 60 years in 2018; brothers, Leonard and Edwin Jakubowski and son-in-law David Iavarone.

She is survived by brother, Bill (Joann) Jakubowski and one sister, Barbara (Bob) Silber.

Nancy is also survived by three daughters, Ann Marie Iavarone, Charlotte (Greg) Bugdon and Michele (Ron) Perkins. She is also survived by five grandchildren. Nikki Iavarone, Audra Kozen, Adrienne Hawkins, Joe and Jon Bugdon. Also survived by nine great grandchildren, Jared, Justin, Ivy, R.J., Abby, Luca, Madison, Dominic and Bailey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc. 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16503 on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. A prayer service will be held at Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish 1531 East Grandview Blvd, Erie, Pennsylvania 16510.

Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Erie.
