John H. Ingalls, 75, of Elgin, PA, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Erie VA Community Living Center, with his family by his side, after fighting a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
John was born November 14, 1948, in Union City, PA, a son of the late William R. Ingalls and Frances "Jean" (Honaker) Ingalls.
John was raised and educated in Corry, PA. Shortly after High School, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. After receiving an honorable discharge, he started working for Tinko Construction. He later became a Union Carpenter for Chatham Industries in Erie, PA.
He was an avid outdoorsman; he especially loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the VFW.
John is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (Hovis) Ingalls of 51 years; a son, John P. Ingalls and companion, Angela Richardson of Elgin, PA; a daughter, Jennifer (Ingalls) Manno and husband, Michael Manno of Union City, PA; grandchildren, Brandon, Garrett, Tiarra, Joey, Sarah, Emily, Addison, and Austin; as well as six great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by one brother, Ronnie Ingalls of Union City, PA; two sisters, Susan (Ingalls) Nelson and husband Raymond Nelson of Columbus, PA; and Cindy Ingalls of Oklahoma.
At the family's request, no public calling hours or funeral service were conducted. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
