Clarence Ritchie Obituary

Clarence William James Ritchie "Herky" of Erie, PA, age 66, on February 18, 2023, closed his eyes and went to his heavenly home. He was born in Erie, PA, on February 29, 1956, as the sixth child to the late John D. Ritchie, Sr. and Leola Holloway Ritchie. Clarence graduated from Academy High School. Shortly after graduating, he joined the military and served in the United States Army and Navy as a Cook. After his military career, he returned home and worked for General Electric "GE" for 20+ years as a Machine Operator. Everyone who knew Clarence called him Herky and felt his big heart and giving nature. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers Fan and enjoyed talking much smack about them. He enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and listening to music. His beautiful smile and that gleam in his eyes will be missed. We will always love you but God loves you BEST! In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by one brother, Charles E Ritchie. He leaves behind to cherish his memories six sisters and five brothers. Frances (Sam) Beason of Erie; John D. Ritchie, Jr. of Erie; Hallie Ruffin of NC; Loretta Ritchie of Erie; Nancy (Royce) Sykes of Erie; May (Douglas) Amos of Erie; Furman Ritchie of Erie; Bertha (Willis) Williams of Erie; Theodore (Rozelynn) Ritchie of Ill; Larry (Bernice) Ritchie of Erie; Anthony Ritchie of Erie; a special aunt Violet Muhammad of Erie; his three road dogs Kevin Tate, Terry Summerville, and Gordy Gambill all of Erie; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, family, and friends!
